Outreach

The High Desert Droids is very active in the community. We participate in a variety of local events in order to promote public awareness of our team. We are also active in helping the FIRST LEGO teams in our area.

FIRST LEGO League

Every year we provide workshops for the Central Oregon teams that are participating in the FIRST LEGO League. In these workshops we aim to educate the younger children and help them in any way that we can.

Bend Fall Festival

The Bend Fall Festival is put on yearly, in October. Our team runs an area where we show off the robots and let children drive them around.

Deschutes County Fair

The Deschutes County Fair is held in the Redmond Fairgrounds. We bring the robots to this event as well as all the others in order to get the word out about FIRST and our team.

Pumpkin Festival

This year is the first year that we have participated in the Central Oregon Fall Festival. We set up a button making booth, showed off the robots, and had a catapult built to entertain the children; it was a huge success.
